Oriental Boat show

It was a great weekend for the boat show.  A beautiful breezy Saturday made it hard not to want to buy a boat.  We had great fun visiting the booths and walking through various sailboats.  Here are some photos...

New hull / Show

The boat show was great fun.  I got to hang out with Matt Lennert of Starboard SUPs and Jodelle Fitzwater of BIC SUPs at the biggest SUP booth at the show.
Sea State was right there with the big boys (and girls).
We talked to a lot of folks, some of whom had tried paddle boards on vacations and we introduced the sport to many.

The new hull got to the show on Friday and was looking great.

Sea State at the Boat Show

Wednesday evening the St. Louis Boat show begins.
I believe it is open for media and vips?
Normally it is Thursday - Sunday.
We moved one of our boards down yesterday and helped StL Sail and Paddle set up their booth.
Here is the Hull we took down.
We have some SUP paddles there as well.
The new board might be there on Friday.

Bonding the deck to the new hull

The latest sup is nearing the end of the production line.  Today we bonded the deck to the hull.  In the last class we conducted we learned the advantages of using truckers straps for this process.  They evenly force the deck down on to the hull.
In the morning after the adhesive has set, we will use the router to trim the deck edge.  Once this is finished and we have scraped off the blue tape and excess adhesive, we will sand and fill coat the deck.
